Our current Payroll Advisor is off to take on the most challenging role of her life; becoming a Mum. Whilst we are super excited for her, we are now left with big shoes to fill for a 10 month fixed term maternity cover contract.

About the role: 

Based in beautiful Queenstown our People & Culture team are looking for a full-time Payroll Advisor to support our global business on a 10 month maternity cover contract. If you have a flare for payroll, enjoy problem solving and are eager to grow and learn this is the opportunity for you.  

In this role you will work within a small team that is accountable for the overall end to end processing of fortnightly payrolls across our Australia, New Zealand, Canada & United States entities.

Other duties include (but not limited too):

  • Support all checks to ensure the payrolls are processed in accordance with standard processes, company policy, and in line with relevant country legislation and statutory record keeping requirements.
  • Responsible for all payroll queries.
  • Maintain accurate employee information including on-boarding new employees, existing employee changes and terminations
  • Generation of Employment contracts and offer letters for Australia and NZ.
  • Create variation, secondment letters and ad-hoc employment letters as required.
  • Support our Time & Attendance system (Deputy) including update implementations.  
  • Generate payroll reports to use for insights & analysis as required.
  • Process PAYE, PAYG, KiwiSaver, Superannuation in line with finance processes and time frames.
  • Keep up to date with relevant payroll & employment legislation.
  • Support the People & Culture team with any P&C projects or process improvements.
  • Maintain and monitor confidentially to the highest degree.

About You:

  • 2+ years' experience processing end to end payroll in mid-sized company
  • A working knowledge of payroll systems (iPayroll / CloudPayroll / UltiPro would be an asset)
  • Experience in either an Australian and/or New Zealand payroll environment (Canada / United States experience advantageous)
  • Friendly, personable and professional attitude with the ability to build/maintain key relationships with stakeholders at all levels is essential.
  • Experience with Time and Attendance systems would be an asset.
  • Experience in and/or an eagerness to learn HR related activities is preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems would be an asset.
  • Experience working in a complex legislative environment working with a range of employment agreements and/or Modern Awards.
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual skills.
  • Strong Excel skills is essential
  • Confidence and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
